When starting out, you will understand the importance of money. Everyone does. We need it to pay for the food we eat and for the roof we live under. And it’s true; money is important…to an extent. Once you’ve accumulated some money, hopefully you’ll realize there are things that are worth more than money. Some people don’t get beyond that. But two things come to mind: time and family. Family is easy to understand. I would rather spend more money if it means better/more time with people I care about. The other thing, time, may be a bit harder to appreciate. We have only so many hours on this earth. And you can use money to free up your time. That is a next level hack, but you have to have some money accumulated in order to do that. Something to think about is “how much is my time worth?” And that can change over time. I didn’t value time as much in my younger years however now I care more and more. For instance, it’s be easier for me to buy fried chicken than to make it. It’s be cheaper to make fried chicken, but it’s messy and tedious. I’d much rather buy it than make it. This doesn’t apply for everything though. It is based on how much you value your time vs your money. However, typically as you get older, you have more money and less time, so there is this shift where you may value your time more and more. Just food for thought
